Who We Are...

MISSION

The Atlanta Select Basketball Association is a community based volunteer organization whose purpose is to use youth basketball as a tool to expand the horizon of young people through education, life skills and sports, while promoting self-accountability. The primary goal is to successfully prepare young boys and girls, both academically and athletically, for the opportunity to pursue a degree of higher education at the college level.

CONCEPT

The Atlanta Select Basketball Association offers competition and exposure through State, Regional, and
National events and tournaments. We also offer the following programs in preparation for achieving our primary goal:

- Life Skills
- The fundamentals of basketball
- Monitoring academic progress
- Character/Image development

- Mental and Physical health
- SAT/ACT Test preparation
- Specified Subject Tutoring
- Public speaking

Our VISION is to expand the horizon of young people through education, life skills and sports, while promoting self-accountability.

We are an Amateur Athletics Union (AAU) sanctioned non-profit (501c3) competitive youth basketball program providing opportunities for all girls and boys throughout Metro-Atlanta and all other Georgia areas. We emphasize Education and Life Skills as equal partners to Sports in the development of student athletes. We emphasize skill development as well as skill enhancement in players. While winning is important, we do not feel it should come at the expense of developing character and fair play. We are an association that abides by a "Code of Conduct" for our players, parents, fans and of course our coaches!
